About

chuckHi! Please allow me to introduce myself. I’m Chuck Morrison a Senior Program & Projects Manager as well as a Business Architect and Technical Analyst who specializes in: Business Process Engineering, Software Systems Development, Cross-Functional Project and Change Management Programs, Inventory & Supply Chain Management.

As a Principal Business/Technical Analyst, Strategist, Architect, and Leader with an MBA, my background includes extensive experience in business and technology research, consulting, planning, designing, organizing, mentoring, negotiating, and delivering project, product, program, and process solutions. My background also includes a successful track record planning, managing, and leading small to multi-site, concurrent, complex cross-functional projects and portfolios requiring business process engineering, Internet and information technology, quality management, instrumentation, and training.

Mission
and Motivation
My mission, focus, and commitment are continuous, significant responses and solutions to opportunities and challenges that contribute to pushing the forefront of technology ever forward through both personal and team-driven effort.

The course of my career has afforded me opportunity and pleasure to perform visible, significant work always at the forefront of technology; to provide others with ways to reduce cost, risk, time, materials, and effort allowing them to lead more productive and enjoyable lives.

Vision
In my vision, soon the average person will be empowered through humanized, mobile, web-enabled, voice-actuated communication and information systems. Systems enabling organizations and people to enhance day-to-day collaboration using simple-to-use contacts, schedules, knowledge and information exchange as well as workflow and resource allocation, product-supply value-chain management, health-care, pleasure and entertainment, travel and shopping, and contracts and financial management.

My vision is possible through the merging of several key technologies now reaching critical mass: cellular, PDA devices, the Internet, OLAP, personalization and search engines, voice command-and-control, database, and content management systems. Highly visual pages of the current web will transform to include “speak and say” as well as hidden and tiny pervasive device interfaces. Robots as personal assistants and GPS/GIS for mobile-location applications also have roles in our future societal-landscape.

In my vision, products, services, and information are within the sound of anyone’s voice or touch of their fingertips anytime, anywhere, any-language. Also included in my vision are the senses of taste and smell for selection of anything from perfumes to fine wine to gourmet food (yes, possibly over the Internet).

Key Strengths and Capabilities
My key strengths are commitment, focus, tenacity, leadership, communication, delegation, and negotiation. In short, I plan the work and work my plan. Commitment enables me to take on a critical, complex, challenging project. Focus enables me to define, organize, set, and achieve project goals, schedule, and budget. Tenacity combined with leadership and communication skills enable me to see projects through from concept to code. Negotiation enables me to work with client’s to derive feasible system requirements, use cases, and workflow that achieve the client’s business system needs, features, and support.

In summary, my principal expertise includes strategic to technical level planning, analysis, design, and organizational skills. These skills enable me to quickly and efficiently find solutions for complex business information system opportunities and problems. In additional, I am able to shift focus as needed from a strategic level problem solving and decision-making mode to a tactical, operational, or technical level of detail (including programming in a variety of languages) depending on the needs of a given situation.

Further, I possess the ability to rapidly absorb and assimilate volumes of disparate and technical information then transform findings into prototypes, manageable application component framework, and system architecture designs. Resultant designs enable review and refinement working with others and breakdown of development work into manageable subjects, tasks, components, and relationships for managing related projects. In turn, resultant designs enable communication and transfer of operational and technical requirements as action plans enabling others to perform required tasks in training, software construction, documentation, testing, and deployment of functional systems that meet negotiated client requirements.

Chief among my capabilities are:

  • Working closely with clients to determine or discover business strategies, workflow, processes, and related business information systems requirements.
  • Performing goal-directed research and discovery to support clear definition of opportunities/problems.
  • Organizing and defining resulting business goals, features, and functions requirements and use cases.
  • Determining information system requirements needed to support business requirements.
  • Create rapid prototypes for ensuring proof-of-concept feasibility of technologies needed to support business requirements.
  • Transforming information system requirements/use cases/pattern-driven architectures, frameworks, and components that are reusable and relatively easy-to-manage designs, capabilities, capacity, and implementations using UML and Object-oriented techniques and methods.
  • Determining and managing organizational workflow, tasks, and resources needed to develop solutions to achieve business requirements.

Learning from my planning, research, design, scheduling, and budgeting efforts then teaching, leading, and communicating with others in the skills and knowledge needed to successfully complete programs and projects.
